THERAPIST ~ CONSULTANT ~ AUTHOR ~ BLOGGER ~ PODCAST HOST

Hi Everyone!

I am Dr. Monique Smith Gadson. Also known as Dr. Mo. It’s who I am. It’s what I do. You know? My M.O.!

Okay…

I am passionate about God, my faith, my family, and my friends. I love good food, football, reading, writing, journaling, scrapbooking, walking, and photography. In my head, I’m a sports analyst and football coach. And also a professional organizer. And sometimes a spoken word artist. In real life, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of counseling, consulting, and program development experience. I have primarily worked in church and private agency settings. I own Transforming Visions, LLC where I provide counseling and consulting services.

As a consulting therapist, I work with churches and organizations in leadership development, risk management, and establishing emotionally and mentally healthy environments. We equip leaders in areas of emotional intelligence, mental health wellness, and healthy relationship building and development.

I facilitate groups, referred to as Sessions, on mental and emotional health and relationship education. I love educating as much as I love learning. I hold a doctorate in marriage and family therapy, a master’s in Christian psychological studies, a master’s in clinician mental health counseling, and a bachelor’s in business management. I teach classes in psychology, family systems, human services leadership, counseling adolescents, and sports psychology.

I am a lover of words. I blog. I write. I journal.

I host a weekly podcast - “And The Church Said…” -where I discuss church, faith, mental health and culture from a Christian counseling perspective.

Most recently, I have established a C.H.U.R.C.H - Caring for Hearts with Unwavering Restoration in Christian hope. This is a community that aims to be a safe place to gather for Sessions, seminars, discussions, and other events. I am passionate about helping people live their fullest lives by relating well not only with others but also with self. And we do this while looking to God and His Word for counsel and direction.

“…He has sent me to heal …” Isaiah 61:1

“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can.”

-Neil Gaiman
